Dr Joseph Shava
BA(plc), MBChB(UZ ), MMED (medunsa), FCOG (ecsacog), BE (endoscopy), MIGS
(ESGE Belgium).

Dr Joseph Shava graduated MBChB in 1990 at the University of Zimbabwe. He did his internship at Parirenyatwa and Harare hospital now Sally Mugabe. He had his postgraduate training in South Africa where he obtained the speciality in obstetrics and gynecology in
1997. In 2004 he was certified as an advanced vaginal surgeon from the Royal free hospital in the United Kingdom. His special interest in minimal access surgery lead him to study for the Bachelor in endoscopy and minimally invasive gynecological surgery (MIGS) diploma. In 2018 he co- founded the Zimbabwe society of gynecological endoscopy (ZSGE). The society tasked dr shava in June 2021 to establish a gynecological endoscopy training program. He is currently the chief mentor for which he was awarded a certificate of
outstanding performance in mentorship. Dr Joseph Shava is based in South Africa at the netcare Lakeview hospital where he is the
resident gynecologist consultant and physician advisory board chairman.
