Dr Felix G Mhlanga
MBChB (UZ), MMED ObsGyn (UZ), DMAS (WLH)

Dr Felix Godwin Mhlanga is an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist with a keen interest in Minimal Access Surgery (MAS). He obtained his MBChB and MMED degrees in 1998 and 2005 respectively. Upon completion of his master’s degree qualification, Dr Mhlanga gradually
scaled up his conduct of minimal access procedures in gynaecological practice and in August 2012, undertook a month-long training course in operative laparoscopy procedures, in New Delhi, India (WLH). This was followed by various short courses including a month long observatory attachment at the Asan Medical Centre in Seoul, South Korea, and another two week attachment in Kiel, Germany.
Together with other interested pioneering MAS gynaecologists, Dr Mhlanga enlisted experienced laparoscopic surgeons like Professor Rafique Parkar, Drs Bvuma, Shava, Mackenzie amongst others for “hands-on” mentorship during periodic surgical camps within Zimbabwe. Additionally, he continued to enhance his skills through attending several international workshops especially those organised by the International Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ISGE), an organisation where he was a board member representing the Africa region between 2014 and 2019. Dr Mhlanga is the current Vicepresident of the Zimbabwe Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
