Dr. Liebert is board-certified General Surgeon with specialty fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Surgery. Her practice focuses on minimally invasive metabolic/bariatric surgery, hernia repair, and abdominal wall reconstruction. Dr. Liebert works as faculty at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System and Stanford School of Medicine. Dr. Liebert obtained her MD degree and completed General Surgery Residency at Stanford University School of Medicine. She completed an American College of Surgeons- Education Institute Surgical Education Fellowship at Stanford and an Advanced GI/Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at VA Palo Alto. Dr. Liebert has received recognition for her teaching including the Arthur L. Bloomfield Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Clinical Medicine at Stanford School of Medicine and nationally from the Association for Surgical Education and American College of Surgeons. Dr. Liebert holds several leadership roles in surgical education in the Department of Surgery and VA Palo Alto, including Associate Chair of Education, Associate Program Director for the Advanced GI/MIS Fellowship, and Associate Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Program. Her research focuses on surgical education, including entrustable professional activities (EPAs), assessment, simulation, and global surgical education.
